“She was free in her wildness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water.”- Roman Payne
Iceland Boudoir Editorial
What an other-worldly land this place is! We traveled to Iceland as the wedding photographers for a wonderful destination wedding at Hotel Budir, but I will share more about that beautiful celebration in another post. I feel it is important to take full advantage of the time spent in new places, so I always try to make a little time for a creative collaboration when ever possible. Scheduling an Iceland Boudoir Editorial seemed like the perfect opportunity in this epic place.
The photographs above were captured during an epic Iceland Boudoir Editorial adventure with one of our favorite models, Oda. We originally met Oda last year in Nice, France, as she was one of the beautiful models for our first photography workshop with Norwegian Wedding Magazine. Fortunately, she lives in Oslo now, and that is just a plane hop away from Reykjavik, Iceland. Most of these images were taken while exploring the southern region of Iceland. These creative opportunities really refresh a travel photographer’s energy and inspiration.
About This Iceland Boudoir Editorial Shoot
Lauren Field Design
“We wanted to honor the intimacy of moments surrounding life changing special events, their introspective qualities, and the complex sense of inner voyage that occurs within one’s soul. This story is about a quiet morning wandering the serene landscape amidst moments of reflection. She immerses herself in her thoughts and her writing while contemplating new roles in life and the future as two become one. The presence of water brings a sense of transformative calm.
We chose a palette of deep hues and delicate texture inspired by the misty microclimate and prismatic shapes in the landscape found in Iceland. Inky tones of navy and black are paired with soft layers of her skirt and the intricate gold texture of her bodice. Her hair is windswept and her cheeks rosy. With starry eyes she looks to the expansive vistas surrounding her.”
