“Take a journey into the world of possibilities. You will be amazed with your adventure.” – Lialah Akita
As an Iceland wedding photographer, I very much enjoy the rugged terrain and stunning scenery in this beautiful destination wedding location. Amira and Luke were a fantastic couple to work with. I love their excitement for the adventure of their celebration!
A note from this destination bride:
We are really glad we did our bride & groom portraits before the ceremony and started our wedding day with just the two of us (and our photographers!). We both drove up to the venue that morning, got ready together, and after a first look with our photographers, we piled into the car and roamed around Iceland taking pictures in epic locations. Luke and I were hiking around waterfalls in hiking boots and my wedding dress! It was awesome! Great moment to appreciate the two of us and really made the ceremony even more special. We also skipped the rehearsal dinner! Best decision ever. We wanted our family and friends to have time to explore Iceland, so instead of doing a rehearsal dinner, we were married the night everyone arrived, then spent the entire next day visiting the sites with all our guests.
My favorite moment of the day was our wedding portraits. Luke and I drove up early to the hotel and actually got ready together so we could head out early with our photographers to do our couples photos around Iceland. We had our hiking boots on and trekked over waterfalls and muddy fields to get some pretty epic shots! It was a great experience getting to have some one-on-one time with Luke ahead of the ceremony. We were able to appreciate the day even more and it made the ceremony all that more special. Also, taking tequila shots with our photographers after we finished was pretty awesome too! We returned back to the hotel on such a high and with so much love that I went and hugged all the guests who were still arriving at the hotel! I did not care one bit if people saw me in my dress before the wedding! These folks had trekked across the world to spend the weekend with us in Iceland and I was so happy to see them!
