We try to capture the essence of the places we visit around the world. I will often be up before sunrise to scout around a new city and capture some of the beautiful morning light. One of the best ways to get a sense of a place is to see it empty and quiet. People add character, but they also chance the landscape a bit, so it’s nice when there is time built into an assignment for us to get to spend time soaking up the surroundings – it is creatively refreshing, and it makes us better at capturing great images when the pressure is on and the client is in front of the lens.
Often the images captured in these quiet times are well suited for publication in travel magazines and/or advertising images for local venues. It is a great honor to have some of the images captured in Venice, Italy during our April 2015 trip published in the Winter 2015 issue of Town & Country Magazine!
