The best portion of your life will be the small nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.

Theressa & Derick’s Galveston Island beach engagement photos

Always a pleasure to photograph an engagement on the beach in our beloved little town of Galveston, especially when we get to spending the evening enjoying the historic strand area of downtown, and then end with a sunset walk on the beach. It’s kind of a perfect evening, if you ask me.

Words from the Bride-to-Be:
Galveston is special to us because we both met at the Tremont House, we both moved from out of state trying to have a fresh start and out of all the hotels in Galveston he got a job at mine! We both come from small towns, so Galveston gives a small town feel but still within reach of a big city.

Funny story… our co-worker Lucy convinced me to date Derick. Lucy was our intern for the year from Ukraine and we had been traveling around the U.S. for 8 months completing her bucket list when Derick started working with us. It was the last part of her internship and Lucy would work some shifts with Derick, and some with me. She would ask Derick all sorts of questions to find out what kind of person he was and then tell me all about him while we worked together and try to convince me that he was perfect for me and my lifestyle. I kept telling her absolutely not! I couldn’t date anyone I work with because it wouldn’t work out and it would look bad! I refused to accept it for about two months, but Lucy told Derick that he should go for it and both of them worked together to change my mind :). We found out after he stopped working at the Tremont House, that anyone who didn’t know we were together had always said that we would make a great couple; and we were even told by several guests when we worked together that we would make beautiful couple!

When picking out my outfits I was choosing for the environment we would be in and wanted it to be romantic. The white dress I wore for pictures at the Tremont has a similar pattern as my wedding dress and the blush gown had slits in it that would look great for our beach shots because I knew there would be a breeze. Derick and I loved our engagement experience with Koby, it was so smooth and effortless and he made us feel like we were all friends just hanging out :).
